Solid heavyweight cast of this beautiful Ammonite from Morocco. Rear of shell is flat, designed for display, with stand and rear wall hanger. This reconstruction was created by us for a customer request, to feature the possible anatomy of an Ammonite in life.
Acanthoceras was an extinct genus of large, heavily ribbed ammonite, lived approximately 100 to 93 million years ago during the Late Cretaceous period, specifically during the Cenomanian stage.
These free-swimming predatory cephalopods flourished in the shallow, warm seas of the Cretaceous and left behind fossils that are now highly prized by collectors.
Includes presentation box with magnet closure.
