ICTHYOSAURUS BREVICEPS

Icthyosaurus breviceps was a fish like marine reptile with a streamlined body, paddle like limbs built for speed, a long snout with a series of sharp teeth for catching prey like cephalopods and fish. Its huge eyes enabled it to see very well in deep water conditions. It was a fully aquatic animal, giving birth to live young instead of laying eggs. Its thick, massive ear bones and large eyes suggest a keen sense of hearing and sight, which were vital for locating food in the ocean.
